Bananarama Bread

This easy-peasy recipe is packed with loads of bananas, chocolate chips, and crunchy toasted walnuts. The bread is so moist, it practically melts in your mouth with every heavenly bite. The chocolate chips add an extra pop of sweetness while the toasted walnuts give it a nutty twist. It's the perfect balance of flavors and textures that will have you begging for more!

Ingredients
  

  • 1 1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 1 tsp baking soda
  • 1 tsp baking powder
  • 1/4 tsp salt
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 2 eggs beaten
  • 3 over ripe bananas bananas
  • 1/3 cup buttermilk
  • 1/2 cup vegetable oil or substitute with Canola oil
  • 1 cup chopped walnuts (optional)
  • 1 cup semi-sweet chocolate chips

Instructions
 

  • Preheat oven to 350 F
  • Lightly grease and flour a 9x5 inch loaf pan
  • In a large bowl, sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder and salt
  • In a separate bowl, cream together oil and sugars. Sti in eggs, buttermilk, vanilla and mashed bananas until well blended
  • Stir banana mixture into flour mixture by hand with a wooden spoon so as to not over mix.
  • Stir in walnuts and/or chocolate chips. Pour batter into greased pan.
  • Bake in preheated oven for 1 hour, or until toothpick inserted in center comes out clean.
  • Let bread cool in pan for 10 minutes on wire rack before removing.

Notes

To toast walnuts- spread chopped walnuts on a saucepan and cook for 5-10 minutes on medium heat until golden. Cool before adding to batter
